When Jason contacted us about proposing to his girlfriend, we thought what a dream session this would be. In the weeks leading up to the date, we planned where it would take place, what time, what they should do, what we would include for them, what we would say to not give anything away, really everything! We all wanted it to be so perfect. We had picked a gorgeous spot in the trees, in which Jason had sent us pictures of. We decided we would say we were photographers for the park, Lockwood Equestrian Park. Jason and his then girlfriend, Brooke, would ride up on horses, we would just be on the trail taking pictures, but then ask if they would pose for a photograph for the website. Jason even had props, some of which he made himself.
The day came, and we were all so nervous. I knew Jason had to be shaking, and I hoped he wouldn’t give anything away! We arrived and went out on the trail where we had decided we would meet them, and waited. And waited. We were so excited, it seemed like it took forever for them to come on horse back, but soon they were there, and we said our lines about being photographers for the park. They got off their horses and posed, and we snapped a couple pictures. Then Jason reached down into his boot and pulled out the ring box. Brooke seemed so surprised and thrilled. Everything was perfect. She said yes, and they walked their horses back. Their family was waiting to congratulate them, which was so adorable. Then we went around the park a bit to snap some just engaged photographs. It was a pretty epic day.
We were featured on a local news story, as this was a pretty awesome proposal. You can view it here.
